i think it was my last semester of college that did it.
i took classes on death:
death in the civil war, death in pompeii, burial in ancient rome…
i spent time in cemeteries, analyzing gravesites…
i wrote my senior thesis on a tragic death.

honestly, it’s less morbid and more inquisitive.
